While a lot of people hold Skyrim in very high regard, it is by no means a perfect experience. Over the years, players have encountered a number of glitches within Skyrim that range from helpful to hilarious. These bugs tend to occur at such a frequent rate that many players aren’t even surprised when they occur anymore. Although, one player had something rather unexpected happen when trying to take down an enemy NPC with a bow and arrow.

A Reddit user named sad-meal posted a video of their player character attempting to shoot an enemy in the head with a bow, but once the arrow connects with the target, the arrow immediately drops onto the floor. While the game still registered that the NPC had taken damage, it wasn’t enough to kill him, and the player gets immediately spotted and killed almost instantly.

For many players, this might seem rather odd, considering that the bows in Skyrim tend to be some of the best weapons in the game - especially for players that utilize stealth. It’s possible that when the player shot the arrow, the animation that plays when an NPC gets up out of a chair caused the arrow to not make contact and just drop to the ground.

It’s amazing how players still continue to find glitches like this within Skyrim. In fairness, Skyrim is a rather extensively large game, so it’s inevitable that some technical flaws would manage to slip through the cracks. Even with Skyrim Anniversary Edition, the sheer amount of new content for players to complete would likely create additional bugs and glitches.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for The Elder Scrolls series moving forward. Despite Bethesda unveiling The Elder Scrolls 6 a few years ago, there has been little to no additional news regarding the game’s development, nor when fans can expect to see any sort of update. With any luck, new information on The Elder Scrolls 6 will surface in the coming months.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
