Launched earlier this year after months of excited anticipation by fans, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is the first fully open-world game in the franchise’s long history. Despite sometimes frustratingly poor performance on the Nintendo Switch, and a multitude of bugs ranging from the amusing to the infuriating, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been praised by many series fans and have gone on to become the fastest-selling games in Nintendo’s history. As part of ongoing holiday celebrations in the games, players currently have an opportunity to grab some in-game items during the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Christmas Distribution Event.

In a hilarious new clip posted on r/PokemonScarletViolet, Reddit user Chris_R16 shares a clip of their Pokemon trainer getting wildly jostled about while they ride a Koraidon through the bustling streets of Levincia. Making its debut in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Koraidon is a Dragon-type Paradox Pokemon that serves as players’ transportation in the game, able to evolve to gain new mobility options like swimming and gliding. Seen in its Sprinting Build in this bone-jarring clip, the speedy Koraidon leaves the hapless trainer holding on for dear life as they bounce from side to side.
Fans of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet responding to post were amused by the whiplash-inducing clip, with several users sharing GIFs of headbangers who look like they’d feel right at home atop a bucking Koraidon. A few commenters took the opportunity to explain the dragon Pokemon’s unusual biology after some users were confused as to why a creature with wheel-shaped appendages would run rather than roll. Some Pokemon fans who opted to pick up Pokemon Violet responded to the post explaining why they preferred that game’s Miraidon to the bumpy ride of Koraidon.
While some of the unusual bugs in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have left even long-time franchise fans frustrated with the titles, this odd glitch seems to have even the grumpiest Pokemon gamers chuckling. With its hilariously jerky animation for the unlucky trainer perched upon its back, this Koraidon may not get players where they’re going in style, but their passengers are sure to arrive with smiles on their faces.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
