High on Life suffers from some technical issues that have hurt the game’s reception with some players. Many of the High on Life bugs are harmless graphical problems, but there are others that are more serious and potentially game-breaking. There is one High on Life jetpack bug that is particularly nasty and has potential to ruin one’s save file, though it thankfully appears to be a fairly rare occurrence.

The new High on Life update released today doesn’t address that game-breaking jetpack bug, but it does tackle many other issues that players have been experiencing in the game. After downloading the latest update, High on Life players should notice improved performance on Xbox consoles and additional protection to avoid save file corruption, as well as fewer crashing issues and glitches. Needless to say, High on Life players that have been having issues with the game should have significantly improved performance after downloading the update.

There is still work to be done to iron out all of High on Life’s issues, but the game should be in a fairly solid state after the latest update. Those on the fence about the game should be able to try it out now knowing that some of the more egregious technical problems have been handled. Of course, it’s worth pointing out that anyone curious about the game can play High on Life through Xbox Game Pass, so they don’t even need to risk spending money on it to find out if it’s up their alley or not.

As indicated by the mixed High on Life reviews, one’s mileage with the game may vary, even with these technical problems resolved. Those who enjoy Justin Roiland’s sense of humor will likely find it to be a lot more entertaining than those who don’t like the Rick and Morty creator’s other work. Ultimately, fans should try the game out for themselves and come to their own conclusion about the game’s quality.

In the meantime, High on Life players should be able to expect more updates for the game in the future. While most of these will just be bug fixes like this one, some could be more substantial. There are plans to produce High on Life DLC after all, so fans will have to wait and see what that will entail.

High on Life is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
